The Ruby Raspberry of Infamy Goes to Internet Thought Nazis

The term "Thought Nazi" has probably been in use for a while, referring to one who wishes to eliminate those whose ideas are not in line with his or her own stringent view of the world. It can also refer to those who wish to censor others whose views are different or misunderstood.

Although most e-mail I receive has been positive, (why bother saying anything if you can't say something good, right?) I did receive an e-mail from an individual named Dan Meyers who had the audacity to tell me what not to put on my website! His opinion about my art is rather irrelevant, if not comical and ignorant. But the fact that this person is telling me what to include on a website that I own and maintain is why I am choosing to quote his e-mail verbatim and include a link to his e-mail address. Flame him if you are so inclined. Tell him what he can do with certain things, as he likes telling others. Just remember, this person exists, and he might come visit your site next.

I have also highlighted passages that prove my theory that those who criticize art understand it least. I have made parts red that are comical contradictions. (See below)

I was not inspired, moved, awed, perplexed, or interested in your art(either digital or physical). I even TRIED to search for meaning, symbolism, or beauty, and could find none. For art to be interesting or appreciated, it must inherently evoke some brain response through imagery(or other medium): something that will bring emotion/pleasure/pain/thinking to (the observer).

You put textures on a page or canvas or wood. I look around my house and out my window and see much more interesting textures that evoke great senses of awe and beauty and sadness and memories and bring questions to my mind. Get the point.

Perhaps your art is meant as self-expression, and if so, please don't waste web-users' time by posting huge, uninteresting pictures of trash.

Thank you for your attention.

pain: he felt pain by looking at my site!

pictures of trash: he claims he found no imagery, but he obviously found pictures of trash!

Since the entire web is being taken over at a grass-roots level by individuals and personal homepages, just where is this guy coming from? Is he going to obtain a government grant so he can have time to sit on his pathetic butt all day and write to people whose webpages he doesn't approve of? Did some paradigm change and make him God?
